I am delighted to announce the premiere of Requiem, a large-scale work for mixed voice choir, SATB soloists, and orchestra. The piece will be featured as part of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church concert series in Baltimore, Maryland under the direction of Christian Lane, and will share the program with Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Mass for the Endangered.
Requiem is my response to the challenge of loss—both personal and communal—that we all face as part of our human experience. With a backdrop of global turmoil we are experiencing in the year 2025, the work is simultaneously a commemoration of the dead and a celebration for the living. It’s a focal point for processing our feelings about mortality, and about the wonder of our existence. I offer this piece to listeners as an experience for solace, as a meditation for one’s feelings of grief, loss, hope, and of healing.
The concert will take place Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 811 Cathedral Street in Baltimore. Tickets are available online here.
